First time license?

Owners must provide proof of your pet’s rabies vaccination

  • Show us a statement/receipt from your veterinarian or clinic that did the vaccination and can verify the vaccination or 
  • Sign affidavit of rabies vaccination on the form.

Owners must provide proof of your pet’s spay or neuter

  • Show us a statement or receipt from your veterinarian or clinic that did the surgery or examined your pet and can verify surgery or
  • Provide previous license information showing spay/neuter or
  • Sign affidavit of spay or neuter on the form.

License Fees

  • Under age six months dogs and cats - $15
  • Spayed or neutered dogs and cats - $30 
  • Unaltered dogs and cats - $60
  • Lifetime License* - $15 
  • Replacement Tag - $5 Additional 

* Residents 65 years of age and older or disabled residents may obtain a non-transferable tag for the lifetime of their altered pet for a one-time fee of $15. Proof of owner’s age or disability must be submitted.

Pet licenses are valid for a term of one year from issuance, expiring on the last day of the twelfth month.

Note: The license tag you initially receive is permanently assigned to your pet. If a tag is lost, replacement tags are available for a $5 fee.

Who needs a Burien Pet License?

How do I use your website to license my pet?

There are two options on how to license your pet using Pet Track. Apply and purchase a new license online here.

If you have a new pet and have not registered a pet licensing account with the City before, select "No" when asked if you have an existing account and verify your address to begin creating a new account. 

If you have an existing account, select "Yes" on the Pet Track application page. First time users will need to register their e-mail address and create a password for the online pet license account. Use your renewal notice to find your account number. Use this account number to setup your new online license account. If you have not received a renewal notice please contact the City and be ready to provide your e-mail in order to retrieve your account number.

What are the differences between various pet licenses?

Juvenile
This license is for pets under the age of six months: $15

Altered
This license is available for pets over 6 months old that have been spayed or neutered: $30

Unaltered
This license applies to pets who have not been spayed or neutered:  $60

Senior
Residents 65 years of age and older or disabled residents may obtain a non-transferable tag for the lifetime of their altered pet for a one-time fee of $15. Proof of owner’s age or disability must be submitted.

You may change your Pet's information by logging into your Pet Track account. 

 

I want to add another pet to my existing account. How do I update it?

Log into your existing Pet Track account and follow the apply for a new pet license instructions.
