 Service Update

  • As we complete our transition to improve our online services, if you are unable to request your inspection on MyBuildingPermit please call our inspection hotline at (206) 248-5525. When leaving a voicemail, provide your name, phone number, and the permit related to the inspection. The inspection hotline will not provide a confirmation number.
  • There are no electrical inspections on Mondays.
  • Inspection requests must be submitted by 3:30 p.m. the day before you would like the inspection to occur.

To request an inspection for most* permits, visit MyBuildingPermit. When making inspection requests or payments for permits, please use the City of Burien permit number issued to your permit (e.g., BLD23-1234), not the MyBuildingPermit application number (e.g., E23-12345).

*Fire permit inspection requests are not currently available on MyBuildingPermit.

For Fire Sprinkler or Fire Alarm Permits, please email [email protected], or call (206) 209-4119 at least 48 hours in advance to schedule an inspection for Monday through Thursday. Inspection requests are not confirmed or scheduled until verification of receipt by the Fire Marshal’s Office is received.
