How to Find out About Closures or Changes
Radio and television stations will report school closures and changes in school schedules. Please listen for the Highline School District report.
During periods of bad weather or power outage, parks, and City facilities may be closed.
During
extended periods of inclement weather, some classes or rentals will
continue to be canceled. Canceled classes will be listed on the (206)
988-3700 after-hours message line and on this web page.
If the
Highline School District cancels classes, then all Burien Parks,
Recreation and Cultural Services (PaRCS) classes, programs, and rentals
are canceled.
School Closed
If the Highline School District is
closed, all Burien PaRCS classes, programs, and rentals are canceled.
Canceled classes will be refunded. For rentals, we will make every
reasonable effort to reschedule.
School Open or Late Arrival
If Highline School District declares late arrival for classes, the following policy applies:
- Classes or rentals held prior to 10:00 a.m. are canceled.
- Classes at Moshier Community Art Center that begin at 9:30 a.m. will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 12:30 p.m.
- Classes
or rentals held after 10:00 a.m. should check the Weather Closures

Early Release
If
school is released early due to inclement weather, the following policy applies:
- Classes or rentals held after 3:00 p.m. are canceled.
