Recycle your old stuff at the upcoming recycling event for residents of Burien, Normandy Park, and King County.
Processing fees apply to certain items. Only cash payments accepted. Please be prepared to pay at event entrance. Bring exact change.
No flat beds or dump trucks allowed. We reserve the right to refuse oversized, commercial, contaminated, excessive or unacceptable loads. Secure your load! It's the law.
Only residents in cars will be provided service. People walking into the event will be refused service.
Items that will be accepted
- Electronic / Computer Equipment: DVD players, VCRs, stereo equipment, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and cellular phones (remove personal information). Computers and computer monitors, mouse, keyboards, tablet computers, and e-readers (no charge).
- Television Sets: TV sets encased in plastic, sets encased in wood, big screen TV sets, and projection TV sets (no charge - see E-cycle Washington for year-round options).
- Tires: Limit 6 passenger tires per household (18 inches and below) free of charge. $3 for extra tires off rim. $6 for all passenger tires on rims. $10 for each large truck tire, and $20 for each truck tire on rim. No oversized tires accepted.
- Batteries: Lead Acid Batteries - Car, truck, marine, motorcycle, and sealed lead acid batteries accepted. Alkaline Batteries: AAAA, AAA, AA, A, B, C, and D cell alkaline batteries. No recharge-able, cell phone, or nicad batteries accepted. Lithium-ion batteries, like tool and vape batteries, will not be accepted. Visit Call2Recycle.org for more battery recycling options.
- Document Shredding: Shredding of confidential paper materials. Limit 4 file-size boxes. No exceptions. Visit atg.wa.gov/community-shred-events for more paper shredding options.
- Propane Tanks: Residential tanks only. $10 charge.
- Porcelain Toilets and Sinks: Remove toilet seats, hardware, and wax rings. $25 charge.
- Refrigerators/Freezers/Air Conditioners: $35 per refrigerator or freezer. $35 for each household air conditioner.
- Bulky Wood: Includes tree branches (minimum 6 inches in diameter), logs, clean wood, plywood, pallets, and other untreated and unpainted wood. No leaves, grass, small branches, sod, or brush. Please lay a tarp under material for ease of removal.
- Mattress / Box Springs: Mattresses and box springs any size. $35 per mattress and $35 per box spring. Vendor reserves the right to refuse any item it cannot recycle. No furniture or frames. No wet or soiled items.
- Styrofoam Blocks and Packing Peanuts: White Styrofoam blocks. Packing peanuts (any color). All materials must be clean and dry. No urethane foam cushions, hot tub covers, expanded poly-propylene or foam insulation. Expanded polystyrene only. Look for the #6 or EPS inside the recycling symbol. Packing peanuts: please keep in box or bag.
Items that will not be accepted
- Cardboard: Please recycle cardboard in your curbside recycling bin.
- Household goods and clothing: This material can be self-hauled to donation locations in the local area. Call first to confirm locations are open and accepting material.
- Appliances (except CFC units) and scrap metals: Appliances and scrap metals will be collected at a similar event this fall.

Do you know that Hazardous Waste cannot go in the trash or down the drain?
Hazardous products say "CAUTION", "WARNING", "DANGER", or "POISON" on the label and can be harmful to humans, wildlife, and the environment if not disposed of safely.
