Burien Residents Can Apply for Proposed Labor Standards Initiative Pro and Con Committees
Burien residents may now apply online to join a temporary committee in opposition to (con) or support of (pro) the proposed City of Burien Initiative Measure No. 24-001. The application will remain open until positions are filled.
The proposed initiative, concerning labor standards and minimum wages, may be read in full online.
Committee members will be responsible for drafting statements in opposition to, or in support of the proposed initiative for publication in the Voters Pamphlet produced by King County Elections.
The Burien City Council will appoint members for both committees at an upcoming meeting this year. By early December 2024, the City Council will consider a resolution requesting a special election.
