Comprehensive Safety Action Plan

Purpose

The City of Burien is seeking its first Comprehensive Safety Action Plan in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All program (SS4A) and is requesting Statements of Qualification from qualified architectural/engineering firms with demonstrated experience in developing safety action plans and familiarity with USDOT requirements.

The focus of this Comprehensive Safety Action Plan will be safety for all roadway users and the reduction or elimination of roadway fatalities and serious injuries. 

This project shall identify and prioritize feasible roadway safety improvement projects and strategies citywide. A completed Comprehensive Safety Action Plan shall be focused on all roadway users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transport users, motorists, personal conveyance and micro-mobility users, and commercial vehicle operators and shall include public outreach.

Responses to this Request for Qualifications are due by 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
