2025 Pavement Management Project

Purpose

The city is responsible for maintaining approximately 137 centerline miles of paved roads. Each year the city conducts pavement preservation treatments (crack sealing, slurry seals), together with rehabilitation projects (mill and overlays, full-depth repairs) throughout the city to optimize pavement conditions over the entire network.

Street segments for annual projects are selected by reviewing the current pavement condition index (PCI), field inspections and with resident’s input.

The City of Burien (“City”) is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms to provide plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E), together with construction management for the city’s 2025 Pavement Management project, consisting of asphalt preservation and rehabilitation overlays treatments. The annual project may also require improving pedestrian pathways to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements.
