Pet License

The City of Burien requires pet owners to purchase a license for all dogs and cats. See Burien Municipal Code Title 6 Animals.

License Fees

  • Under age six months dogs and cats - $15
  • Spayed or neutered dogs and cats - $30
  • Unaltered dogs and cats - $60
  • Lifetime License* - $15
  • Replacement Tag - $5 Additional

* Residents 65 years of age and older or disabled residents may obtain a non-transferable tag for the lifetime of their altered pet for a one-time fee of $15. Proof of owner’s age or disability must be submitted.

Pet licenses are valid for a term of one year from issuance, expiring on the last day of the twelfth month. Note: The license tag you initially receive is permanently assigned to your pet. If a tag is lost, replacement tags are available for a $5 fee.
