Under the direction of the City Manager, between 75 and 100 employees depending on the season have the honor of serving the residents of Burien. We are a contract city which means that we contract with King County or private vendors for many primary services including police, fire, animal control, and grounds maintenance services.

Medical Plans

Employees may choose between four medical plans offered by Kaiser Permanente medical coverage and Regence Blue Shield. All of the plans are administered by the Association of Washington Cities Benefit Trust.

Dental Plans

Employees may choose either Washington Delta Dental or Willamette Dental of Washington dental coverage. The Willamette Dental plan includes orthodontia coverage. Both plans are administered by the Association of Washington Cities Benefit Trust.
