Community Connectors

The Burien Community Connectors Program is a new program that aims to improve outreach and engagement with communities historically underrepresented in the civic process and decisions that impact their community. The City will be partnering with members from the community to act as liaisons and facilitate communication between the City and the community.

Connectors are residents of all ages and backgrounds with deep connections in their community. Connectors have a commitment to facilitate outreach and communications, and provide guidance to City staff on how to design and deliver comprehensive and effective outreach. By building stronger relationships with the broad range of communities in Burien, the City continues toward the Council's goal of establishing new ways to better engage diverse communities in civic conversations and activities. The City partners with the nonprofits Global to Local and Forterra to implement this program.
