Virtual Meeting Access

Starting April 6, 2020, Burien City Council meetings will be held virtually using Zoom webinar software in order to comply with orders from Governor Jay Inslee to not hold in-person council meetings.

We want our community to continue to be able to watch and participate in council meetings. See below the options for both accessing the live broadcast and providing public comment.

How to Watch Council Meetings

The best way to view the Council meeting is to stream it online from your phone, tablet, or computer. You can also watch it on Channel 21 on Comcast.

How to Provide Public Comment

There are three ways to provide public comment:

  1. Public Comment Form (preferred): You can provide a public comment in advance by filling out the online public comment form. The City Clerk will read your comment aloud for up to two minutes per online form comment during the meeting. You must submit your comment by 5 p.m. on the day of the council meeting.
  2. Email: You can provide a public comment in advance by sending an email to cityclerk@burienwa.gov. The City Clerk will read your comment aloud for up to two minutes per email comment during the meeting. Please put your name in the body of the email. Providing your city of residency is optional. Emails must be sent by 5 p.m. on the day of the council meeting.
  3. Text: Send a text to cityclerk@burienwa.gov (simply enter the email address in the “To:” line of the text) and the City Clerk will read your comment aloud for up to two minutes per text comment during the meeting. Please state your name in the body of the text. Providing your city of residency is optional. Texts must be sent by 5 p.m. on the day of the council meeting.
  4. Online (Zoom): If you are unable to provide public comment via email or text, and would still like to provide public comment during the meeting, you will need to login to the Zoom meeting that begins at approximately 7 p.m. Please read the instructions for participation before logging in.

You can find agendas, minutes, and other information about council meetings in the online meeting center.
