Burien Community Center Modifications RFQ

Scope

  • Project 1 – Base Bid: Addition of an ADA non-gender restroom, modifications to existing restrooms, adjoining areas, including necessary utilities.
  • Alternate 1: Replace existing Barber Colman digital controls and HVAC system (serving foyer/atrium and main lobby, restrooms, administration, and Shorewood conference areas, installed in early 1990s) with new equipment. The addition of the new system shall integrate with a separate existing Mitsubishi multi-zone system (serving separate programmed areas, installed in approximately 2009). Installation of a new HVAC system to improve performance and facilitates control access for the entirety of the community center HVAC system through a single control, allowing access via a programmable web accessible system.

Milestones

  • Statement of qualifications due: Thursday November 14, 2019 1:00 p.m.
  • Qualification review: Beginning November 14, 2019
  • Interviews tentatively scheduled: November 18–November 27, 2019

Funding

  • Project 1-Base Bid: Funding is made available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of Burien. A contract will be subject to regulations of the Department of Labor and Housing and Urban Development. Attention is called to Federal provisions for Equal Employment Opportunity, HUD Section 3 requirements, and the minimum wages as set forth in the contract documents linked below.
  • Alternate 1: The City of Burien will retain the option to contract for Alternate 1 project. This scope is funded by King County Community Development Block Grant program, City of Burien and may also include Veterans, Seniors & Human Services.
