2021 Pavement Management Program Overlay Project


This City funded project provides for asphalt grinding and overlay, full depth Asphalt repairs, channelization; incidental removal and replacement of existing pavement; curb/gutter/sidewalk/curb ramps; installation of new ADA compliance sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps; and other minor items of work, all in accordance with the Contract Documents.

Project Estimate

  • The Engineer’s Estimate is $720,000 - $ 820,000.


  • Bid Due Date: Thursday, July 29, 2021, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the first-floor lobby of Burien City Hall, located at 400 SW 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166 (Phone 206-241-4647).

  • Bid Opening: Thursday July 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm, all bids received will then be opened and publicly read in the west courtyard of Burien City Hall, adjacent to Town Square Park. Social distancing in response to Covid-19 directives shall be adhered to during bid submission.


  • Prospective Bidders desiring an explanation or interpretation of the Contract Documents and Plans shall submit inquiries via email to David Traub, City of Burien (davidt@burienwa.gov) by 3:00 p.m., Wednesday July 21, 2021. Oral questions will not be answered, and written questions submitted after said date will not be considered.


  • Bids are due on Thursday July 29, 2021, between 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the first-floor lobby of Burien City Hall, located at 400 SW 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166 (Phone 206-241-4647).

  • All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in the form of a cashier’s check or surety bond made payable to the City of Burien in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such base bid proposal. Bid bonds shall be in a form satisfactory to the City Attorney. Should the successful Bidder fail to enter into the Contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within 10 calendar days of notification of Contract award, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Burien. When the Contract is awarded and executed, the bid proposal deposits will be returned to the Bidders.

  • The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to determine minor irregularities or informalities, and to waive any minor irregularities or informalities.

  • This contract will be subject to Equal Employment Opportunity and prevailing wage requirements.

Bidders are encouraged to “Register as a Bidder” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to be placed on the “Bidders List”. Bidders that do not register will not be notified of addenda or other documents added.
