Brief Overview
The 2018 Pavement Management Program (PMP) consists of two program items, Asphalt Overlay and
Slurry sealing.  The asphalt overlay program considers 1.5-inch to 2-inch thick hot mix asphalt (HMA) being applied to higher traffic volume neighborhood streets or portions of minor arterial streets that cannot be accommodated with slurry seal application. Also part of this program are HMA repair and crack-sealing work in preparation for slurry seal application.
Slurry sealing is a cost effective method for extending the pavement life on residential and low volume streets and is applied to streets that are in fair to good condition. Slurry sealed streets are expected to increase pavement life by as much as 10 years*. It also allows our street maintenance crews to redirect maintenance to daily upkeep and urgent situations.
Please review the FAQ section (right side of this page) for more on Slurry Sealing.
*depending on overall integrity of street.

Project Status: Perteet Inc is the design engineer for this project. Overlay work is expected to advertise for construction in May.  Slurry seal work will advertise in May/June.
