On September 21, 2017 the City of Burien will celebrate National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. Join us to learn how to prevent fall-related injuries among older adults. Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for older Americans. Caregivers, adults, and seniors are welcome to participate!

You'll come away from this day with a better appreciation of the issue and that everyone has a role to play in preventing falls, plus...

  • What evidence-based programs are available to reduce your risk of falling, including our NEW EnhanceWellness Program
  • How to set-up your home to reduce your risk of falling
  • Learn what your risk of falling is through on-site wellness checks
  • Review your medications to avoid drowsiness and dizziness
  • Learn techniques to improve your balance from Tai Chi and exercise demonstrations

The City of Burien is partnering with King County Emergency Medical Services.

Pre-Registration is required. Register by calling 206.988.3700 or register online.
