Brian is a fourth-generation resident of Burien, where both of his parents were raised and where he was born. He now lives in north Burien with his wife, Oksana, and their two daughters, Emilia and Yeva.

Brian works as a business and technology attorney for F5 Networks, a Seattle-based global technology company. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from the University of Washington and a jurisdoctorate degree from New York University School of Law, where he served as online editor of the Environmental Law Journal and President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. Prior to his election to the City Council, he served on the Burien Planning Commission and as Chair of the Burien Shoreline Advisory Committee.
