Arts and Culture Grants

The City of Burien Arts and Culture Grants program supports arts and heritage organizations and artists who provide cultural opportunities for Burien residents. The grant program also aims to attract regional artists and audiences that can contribute to Burien’s identity as an arts and culture-oriented city. 

Open for Arts Grants

Open for Arts grants are available for 2026.

These grants, of up to $1,200, are open to organizations and individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be reviewed as they are received during the year. For details, see:

Applications for 2026 are now closed. Our new grants cycle will open in spring 2026 for 2027 funding.

2026 Arts and Culture Grants Recipients

For 2026, the Burien City Council allocated $40,000 for Arts and Culture Grants. The Arts Commission approved grants to 14 artists/organizations for a total of $35,000. The remaining funds of $5,000 will be used for Open for Arts grants in 2026. Arts & Culture grants will be distributed to the following artists/organizations:
